The IEP and Carley Consult are delighted to announce Richard Phillips from Breakthrough UK as this year’s winner of the IEP Bursary for Work in Progress 2018.
This year’s event, which is taking place at Doncaster Racecourse on 25th April, will host special guest speakers Paul Lewis and Polly Toynbee and will include some great new features such as Mini Masterclasses, bite sized training workshops delivered by leading sector figures and an “Oxford Union” styled head-to-head debate.
The IEP Bursary will provide Richard with a full free delegate place at the conference where he will be presented with a formal certificate of recognition at the start of the day.
Richard said: “I am thrilled and very thankful to have been awarded a bursary for Work in Progress 2018. The draft programme looks to be of great interest both to me in my role working with young people who are not in work or education, and wider people within the disabled people’s organisation I work for (Breakthrough UK) who support disabled people to work and live independently.”
Scott Parkin FIEP said: “The aim of the IEP Bursary is to provide an opportunity for sector practitioners who don’t ordinarily get the opportunity to attend industry conferences to benefit from the Work in Progress experience. We congratulate Richard on his successful application and hope it will provide a beneficial learning, networking and developmental opportunity.”
Jim Carley FIEP, Managing Director of conference organisers Carley Consult said: “We are proud to have run the IEP Bursary scheme for a second year, providing another opportunity to reward local practitioners like Richard. We look forward to welcoming Richard, and all our other friends at IEP, to a great conference in Doncaster next month.”
