Sector: Voluntary & Community Sector

Voluntary & Community Sector

The voluntary sector plays a key role in delivering public services and grant funded projects across all areas of society. The third sector is estimated to earn £11bn p/a from contracted public services, and the Top 300 Independent Charitable Foundations are estimated to allocate £2.5bn p/a in voluntary sector grants. The Government is committed to seeing more charities become involved in delivering public services, through direct contracts, collaborations, and supply chain opportunities.

Big Lottery ESF Building Better Opportunities (BBO)

We provided successful application and project plan support to TCHC, securing two BBO projects in two Local Enterprise Partnership areas, with a combined value of £2.3m. The first focused on self-employment for unemployed jobseekers, whilst the second provided back-to-work support through participation in civic activities.

Employment Opportunities for People with Disabilities (EOPD)

In the face of market consolidation through prime contracting, and with greater market competition, EOPD (a specialist disability charity) identified a strategic priority to merge with a culturally aligned partner. They commissioned us to identify and short list merger candidates, appraising their suitability, brokering merger discussions, and assisting in transition planning. This resulted in EOPD’s successful merger with Shaw Trust.
