The Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (RoATP) is to be closed to new applications from midnight on Wednesday 15 April 2020.

The current iteration of RoATP has been open since December 2018 and is the mandatory register which providers must be approved upon in order to access apprenticeship funding. Providers not on RoATP, but who are interested in delivering apprenticeships, should act quickly to submit their application before the cut-off date.

The closure is aimed to provide time for applications in progress and second applications to be completed and submitted. This includes second applications from providers that have already applied in the past 12 months.

The ESFA will advise further on when the Register will re-open, although this is not expected to be before July. This effectively means that any prospective apprenticeship providers who miss the April cut off may not have the opportunity to be apply for, and be accepted to deliver, apprenticeships until late 2020 at the very earliest.
