A range of outsourced public services support such enterprises, including assistance to start-up, access finance, achieve standards, create new jobs, export, and achieve high-growth. Local authorities, LEP Growth Hubs, DWP, UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), and Business Gateway (Scotland) are all key service purchasers.

Why choose Carley Consult?

We have direct experience of delivering SME support. In 2010, we delivered ERDF funded public procurement and bid writing workshops on behalf of Business Link, for SMEs in Derby. We were re-commissioned in 2014 to deliver similar workshops in Derby as part of the ERDF funded Coaching for Success programme.

Projects

New Enterprise Allowance (NEA) Mentoring:

The NEA Mentoring service provides extra advice for Universal Credit claimants seeking to start-up a business and become self-employed. We provided successful bid support to the PeoplePlus Group to win three regional NEA Mentoring contracts in 2015 (in Manchester, Birmingham and Scotland) and repeated this success, assisting PeoplePlus once again, through a national re-tender exercise in 2017, retaining contracts in the same localities.

Bolsover District Council

We undertook an evaluation of the ERDF funded Work for Yourself project on behalf of Bolsover District Council in Derbyshire, which provided start-up enterprise support for unemployed people with disabilities. The project involved reviewing the quality of support offered, sustainability of self-employment outcomes, actual performance against targets, and establishing the extent of integration with other business support initiatives.
